About Mona ManningMy goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place to explore your feelings. I understand the impact of workplace stress on ourselves as well as on our loved ones. I also understand the challenge of raising children in today's society and the hard work that is involved in even the healthiest of marriages or partnerships. After a career in banking, raising children, and volunteering in the school system, I earned my Master's of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. My clinical training has included all therapeutic modalities, including psychodynamic, attachment, and family systems theory. My post-graduate education includes certification from The Center for Family Consultation, Evanston, in the Bowen Family Systems Theory, a framework for understanding family dynamics and relationship patterns. In my practice, I have worked successfully with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress as well as parenting, life transitions, and relationship issues. Within a supportive environment, I help individual clients, couples, and families facing these challenges by utilizing cognitive restructuring to reframe thinking within the larger framework of Family Systems Theory. My interests also include the use of family systems therapy in work with immigrant families, addressing the acculturation process and parenting issues.
